Visiting Dubai is always exciting, it’s a great spot for a bit of sunshine and sand. If you want to stay somewhere luxurious and well located on holiday in Dubai, there are quite a few great places.
One our favourites is the Armani hotel Dubai in the world’s tallest building- the Burj Al Khalifa. You are probably wondering if it is cracked up to be as good as it’s reputation.
The short answer is yes!

Many would argue that the best area to stay in Dubai is Downtown Dubai. I guess it’s more of a personal choice, as to whether you prefer the city, or the beach. Either way, it’s not that long a drive.
Most would agree that staying in world’s tallest building- the Burj Khalifa is a cool experience. And it is.
Armani hotel has 160 rooms & occupies 11 floors in the Burj Al Khalifa: from the concourse to the 8th level, & levels 38 to 39.
The Armani hotel interior decor exudes sophistication. Innovative, minimalist, modernist elegance, with the touch of Italian luxury. It’s ambience, smells and tastes are all unsurprisingly world-class.

What you would expect from Mr Giorgio Armani, who has a wealth of experience in the luxury industry, & design?! Armani hotel Dubai was his first foray in the luxury hotelier industry, & opened it’s doors in 2010.
His vision is to create a personalised luxury lifestyle experience for every guest- ‘the Armani touch’.
Since then Giorgio Armani has opened up an Armani hotel in Milan. There are plans for more branches around the world.
Our stay at the Armani hotel in Dubai was made that extra bit special by the friendly staff who made us feel at home.
That surprised me a little. Here’s why.
There were anecdotal reports online of people not having great experiences at Armani hotel, so I wasn’t expecting much of a pleasant stay. I kept an open mind though.
The staff went the extra mile throughout the trip, making one feel one was at home away from home. The attention to detail was on another level.
I asked them what their experience was like working at the Armani, & heard a lot of enthusiasm.
ARMANI HOTEL SPA, POOL, & GYM
You will love the Armani spa area, I found it really relaxing. We went for the whole sequential range of spa bathing experiences. I tried the sauna, steam vapore, acqua, & laconium spas. Felt like a new person afterwards!
After that we went for some herbal tea in the massage area.
There is an outdoor pool too, which is small and unisex. And yes, there is a gym too.

The Armani hotel interior in the lobby was dark, & elegant with a modernist touch. It carried a distinct pleasant fragrance, which carried through the hotel.
Armani had a signature fragrance designed by Air Aroma for the Armani hotel Dubai branding. It has a mix of ‘notes of leather’, Mediterranean cypress, smokey cedarwood, clove and sandalwood.
Apparently hotel fragrance branding is a thing, & is worth an estimated $1 billion. Fascinating stuff.
After we checked in, a lifestyle manager greeted us & took us to our room, showed us around & how to operate the tech driven room functions. Each guest has an individual lifestyle manager to ensure a personalised luxury experience. And I did indeed experience a great service.

What also caught my eye was the overall clean sleek aesthetic of the interior throughout the hotel. This carried on into the hotel rooms. The walls are curved and covered in leather, wood, & fabric.
The Armani hotel classic suite interior was elegant with bespoke Armani/Casa furniture & the latest technology. The theme of neutral tones of beige, greys, olive green, pale blues, & browns.
The suite was a great size (70 square metres), with a private living room, private bar, coffee machine, bedroom, roomy walk-in closet/butler station, bathroom/shower, & guest toilet.
We made full use of the coffee making machine. The fridge was full of complimentary alcohol-free drinks. Did I mention the Armani chocolates?!
The bedroom was elegant, with a comfortable king-size bed, armchair, & 40-inch flatscreen which could also be used as a computer.
The high-tech suite was controlled by the use of a programmed Ipad:
We could dim/turn off the lights, open/shut the curtains/blinds, turn on the TV, radio, manage the aircon, manage our bills, view the services available in the hotel, as well order room service.

We loved the Armani hotel breakfast buffett, it was incredible and everything was delicious. I kid you not! So many choices. And service again, impeccable.
You can go for a continental breakfast, or a la carte, or even have something custom made. There are middle eastern favourites, sushi, various types of salami, salads, noodle breakfasts, & plenty more.
Even if you aren’t staying at the hotel, I totally recommend going & having the brunch.

VIEW FROM AT THE TOP //BURJ KHALIFA OBSERVATION DECK
I love sunrise or sunset views. One of the things I was really looking forward to during my stay at Armani Hotel Dubai was ease of access to the viewing platform At The Top. Or possibly exclusive access of some sort. Not the case.
When we had initially checked in I was told that we would be able to get direct access being guests at the Armani hotel. So we purchased them during check-in & were told to collect the tickets at the booth.
I was disappointed to learn that wasn’t the case once we reached the View At the Top booths.
We had to wait for quite a bit to get our printed tickets, & then joined the queue which took about 35 minutes. Once we reached Burj khalifa observation deck, the sun was setting fast. Luckily we didn’t miss the sunset.
The observation deck was packed with many people trying to get a view from the windows.
Dubai was glittering below and beyond. If you were to look down, you would see the manmade Burj Khalifa lake with it’s famous choreagraphed fountain system.
Hundreds of people were stood with hands & cameras against the windows, peering down as the lights in the fountains would periodically light up & perform their synchonised ‘dance’.

ACCESS TO DUBAI MALL
Not the easiest. There is no direct access or easy way to get to the Dubai mall from the Armani hotel. It will take you about 10 minutes to walk there. Just a bit inconvenient due to the route. And once you return via the mall, you need to find an Armani staff member to swipe you back in to access the hotel. They aren’t always in position as we discovered. Not the end of the world.
ARMANI HOTEL PRAYER ROOM
There is a separate prayer room for men and women. Adjacent to this are facilities for ablution.
Giorgio Armani certainly does a great job to impress. Aside from the usual things one would expect from a five star hotel, you can find yourself really starting to enjoy the luxurious, home-away-from-home feel of staying at Armani hotel.
It is definitely worth staying at, it surpassed all our expectations.
Great service, immaculate modern design, with up to date in house technology.
Would go again, but wouldn’t go to the observation deck!
