Brunch at Sky Garden, Darwin Brasserie - The Luxe Edition
LONDON LONDON// FOOD REVIEW TIPS

Brunch at Sky Garden, Darwin Brasserie

Canon Sky Garden Instameet

Do you like your brunch with a view? Then you will like the Sky Garden, a public garden of sorts which is based at the top of one of London’s towers.

One weekend I walked from London Bridge to 20 Fenchurch street to check it out, & for a spot of brunch. There were lot’s of interesting corners on the way, so I ended up taking some architecture shots. Fun times!

On arrival to the walkie talkie, it felt almost as if I were at the airport security with their security procedure of scanners. Even the Shard didn’t have that amount of scrutiny. However, soon enough I was ushered up in a lift to level 36. Just like that.

The Darwin Brasserie is located just 1 floor above, brunch on Sunday’s there is an all day affair, served in a buffet style.

I thoroughly enjoyed exploring the Sky garden after brunch even though the skies were overcast. Moody skies don’t make for the most attractive photography session, but all the same it was great seeing a different perspective of the London skyline. Luckily I went again to the Sky Garden on a blue skied day as part of the Canon Sky Instameet with @london (more pics here).

REVIEW:

Where: Darwin Brasserie, Walkie Talkie Tower, 20 Fenchurch street, Level 36.

How: I made an RSVP online for brunch a couple of months in advance for a larger group, if you are going in smaller groups I believe you don’t have to wait as long. You can also RSVP by phone.

Ambience & Staff:  Service was okay. When we got there it was relatively quiet, but gradually got busier. When we left the place was full of people.

Food: There is an all day Sunday Brunch served in a buffet style, apart from the main course, which comes fresh from the kitchen. I chose Poached egg with Smoked Salmon, Spinach, & hollandaise sauce. There was a good selection of starters, delicious desserts & smoothies on the buffet island. There was also a selection of fresh juices. Delicious.. The smoothies & juice were my favourite! Here’s the menu.

Mood: Let’s just say my pocket camera was super happy 🙂

Price: £38 per person excluding the service charge.
