Avocado on toast with poached eggs. Yes! Read on for the full review below.
Dairy free smoothie: Coconut water, mango, & lime.
Buttermilk pancakes with nutella, banana, & hazelnuts.
It looks better in person.
There are a total of 300 paintings on the walls of this beautiful restaurant, apparently it took 5 weeks to put them up.
Add Berners Tavern at Ian Schrager’s London Edition Hotel to your list of places to visit in London, you won’t be disappointed.
I went for brunch with a friend, & loved it.
INTERIOR DECOR
Beautiful, & grandiose with an intimate ambience. Berners Tavern feels like it is from another age, with its high ceilings, chandeliers, the walls covered in framed art lend it an art gallery feel. The perfect combination of shadow & light, muted tones of taupe & rose, modern & classic in a restored Edwardian setting. You get the idea, right?!
It is easy to see why Berners Tavern won the British interior design awards with GQ and Elle. It’s given me some ideas for redecorating the living room haha!
FOOD
The restaurant is under the direction of michelin starred chef Jason Atherton.
There is lots to choose from the contemporary british menu, both savoury & sweet breakfast/brunch options.
I went for avocado toast with poached eggs, delicious. The waiter recommended a smoothie made with coconut water, mango, & lime. A little on the sour side owing to the lime, but still lovely!
My friend had buttermilk pancakes with nutella, banana, & hazelnuts. She was happy with it!
Verdict: Food, & decor both brilliant. Fast & efficient service. Didn’t have to wait long for the food. I’ll definitely be going again!
When: I went on a weekday late morning, so it wasn’t particularly busy. It does get busy later in the day, & on weekends.
Where: It is located in Fitrovia, just a short walk from Tottenham court road tube station.
